7 Fun Summer Garden Activities to Get Kids Hooked on Gardening

7 Fun Summer Garden Activities to Get Kids Hooked on Gardening

Does any adult understand the fascination of a “Bug Hotel”? How about seeing your kids happily eat a raw carrot 😳 What about a dinosaur park amongst the weeds. Or a mud-pie party, with mud people? Preserve your sanity and get bored kids out into the barden. For parents, it’s a win-win: kids stay busy, curious, and outdoors, while you can kneel in comfort with a Kneepal, or sneak away for a moment of peace.

5 signs your knees are failing

5 Signs Your Knees Are Crying for Help

The knees are the body’s wheels. Sometimes we only notice them when there’s a flat tire. And that can be too late. Those tumbles, weeding the garden, simple things, sneaking up to attack your knees further down the line.

Eco-friendly diapering. Join the Diaper Revolution with Non-Disposables

Eco-friendly diapering… A Poopy Journey into non-disposable diapers  Let’s talk poop. More specifically: what to do with it when your tiny human keeps producing it like an overachieving yogurt machine on a mission to test your laundry limits. Relax. Non-disposable nappies are now haute couture for baby bums. If you’re a parent with even a glimmer of eco-guilt (hello, climate anxiety!), the thought of stuffing thousands of plastic nappies into a landfill over the next couple of years might make you want to scream into your compost bin. Fear not. There’s a world beyond the soggy, saggy world of disposable diapers. And yes, it’s a bit squishier, sometimes messier, and occasionally makes you feel like a medieval laundry serf. But it’s so much kinder to the planet—and your wallet. So let’s dive in, cheeks first, into the wonderful world of planet-friendly diapering. Trust me: you and your baby’s bum are going to be just fine. 1. The Cloth Diaper Renaissance: Not Just Fighting Poo-lution! Cloth diapers used to mean giant safety pins, rubber pants, and a high chance of peeing directly into your lap. But these days, cloth nappies are high-tech bum couture. We’re talking plush layers of bamboo, adjustable snaps, cute patterns featuring sloths doing yoga. They’re basically yoga pants for butts that don’t know how to walk yet. You can choose from: All-in-One (AIO) diapers (like the iPhone of cloth nappies—fancy, sleek, and expensive) Pocket diapers (you stuff absorbent inserts into a “pocket” like a weirdly intimate sock) Prefolds and flats, for the DIY gods among us who can fold linen into swan-shaped absorbency masterpieces Yes, you’ll be doing more laundry. Yes, you will touch poop. But let’s face it—you were going to touch poop anyway. It’s basically your side hustle now. 2. The Washing: Where Eco-Friendly Dreams

The Tradition Behind Father’s Day

The Surprisingly Touching Tradition Behind Father’s Day Ah, Father’s Day. That magical time of year when dads across the country get an exciting gift they didn’t ask for, usually in the shape of a novelty mug or a suspiciously thick pair of socks. What my Dad wants is a new Porsche.  What he’s going to get is a Kneepal-kneeler. Father’s Day. It’s a day when burnt toast and lukewarm tea are lovingly delivered in bed, and everyone pretends not to see Dad quietly eyeing the football scores on his phone. But where did this glorious celebration of dad jokes, BBQs, and bad aftershave come from? Let’s take a break from panic-buying a card from the supermarket and dig into the surprisingly rich (and slightly chaotic) history of Father’s Day. A Daughter, a War Vet, and a Brilliant Idea Contrary to popular belief, Father’s Day wasn’t invented by a greetings card company—although they’ve definitely made the most of it. The modern version of the day traces back to the United States in the early 1900s, when a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd decided that fathers deserved a day of recognition too. Sonora’s dad, William Jackson Smart, was a single father who raised six children on his own after his wife passed away. Basically, he was an early 1900s version of a superdad, minus the matching T-shirt. Inspired by the newly established Mother’s Day, Sonora pushed for a similar day for fathers—and in 1910, the first Father’s Day was celebrated in Spokane, Washington. The idea caught on very slowly—probably because fathers everywhere were too modest (or too distracted fixing something in the shed) to make a fuss. But eventually, in 1972, Father’s Day became an official holiday in the U.S. under President Nixon. Only 62 years late. No rush, lads. How the

Tiny Falls, Big Risks: Protecting Your Toddler’s Head

Toddler Head Protection is Essential. They are learning to walk and it’s simply the cutest thing – then they fall, and you cuddle and comfort and set them on their feet again – and it starts again “Come to Mommy – come on, come to Mommy!” One minute they’re wobbling like drunk penguins, the next they’re face-planting into the coffee table like it’s part of a game. Toddlers have an incredible gift for falling in the most unpredictable ways—and always headfirst. While we can’t bubble-wrap the world (we’ve thought about it), we can protect their precious little noggins from the bumps and bruises of early adventure. Enter the BounceCap and similar… Sound familiar? You looked away ‘just for a second”, then you heard the wailing and sure enough, she’s fallen and banged her head on the tiled floor.  The solution seems obvious – rip up the tiles and replace it with heavy thick piled carpeting! Or, lash out $12 and get a BounceCap! Order Here We loved the BounceCap at Hudu Health— it’s one of those essential things for toddler head protection and deserves a place in the Hudu Health stable. It’s a superhero cape for your baby’s head. Bouncecap  offered 360° Toddler Head Protection and came with a large chunk of peace of mind. Falling is a natural part of learning to walk. By falling, toddlers learn all about that pesky thing called gravity. Where it is and where it isn’t 😏 This is what Jodi Gilray Pediatric Therapist had to say on her rather fabulous blog… Those first steps happen around 12 months of age, but along with walking comes tumbles, stumbles, and falls. Kids are just learning to balance and coordinate their bodies, so it makes sense that babies and toddlers would fall throughout the learning process. Falling can be
